Emperor - most of the video's are nice, but why can't Ishan stop pulling wierd faces?

Ancient - that dude's face in the background pulling "scary" faces is absolutly halrious

and about the Elvenking video: haha Elvenking have finally admitted that they are emo the whiny vocals all ready were a hint but now we see the truth!

bad videos i can think of off the top of my head are Iron Maiden's Different World and Wildest Dreams. I really dont like the 3D computer graphics. If they used 2D cartoons like they have in other videos i might like them better. That's all i can think of at the monent.

Jesus, for example, take Iron Maiden's 'Can I Play With Madness'. That's a pretty bad video. Whitesnake videos really make me sick, and as far as it goes for black metal bands, some of Cradle Of Filth's earlier work was pretty shitty.

Can I Play With Madness was one of Graham Chapman's last appearances on TV before he died. It isnt great and doesnt seem to have much connection to the song itself

Most of the 80's videos are strange ;-)
To my mind, especially "Bark at the Moon" (Ozzy) is great garbage!

I agree about them being strange but i like that about them, cant say why. Bark at the moon is brilliantly wierd IMO.

Im not sure which song, but maybe its Power of Dragonflames, the video clip for Rhapsody Of Fire, very awful. Its not even celluloid film.

POTDF wasnt a terrible clip, kind of cute in a way with the little kids hehe, it wasnt great though. If i was to name a bad Rhaposdy clip, i would say Holy Thunderforce, the battles are between like 10 people, and it just looks like home footage haha.

I dont like Dio - Holy Diver, its so boring and uninteresting, just him waving a sword around.

My favourite band Iced Earth has terrible clips, every one of them, most are 'too' meaningful in the sense they are boring.

Epica - Quietus, what is with this clip? Its just weird, i dont really get it, and again, boring.

@DC: yeah i totally agree. what about that firewind clip 'I am Anger' (i think thats what its called). it is such a clip for women. and also it reminds me of Manowar

And also 'Rain Of A THousand Flames', i really can't stand their earlier clips , fortunately the latters like 'Unholy Warcry' or 'MAgic Of The Wizard's Dream' are better

You havnt seen a boring video until you've seen "hollow head" by Blaze. throughout the video he's just sitting on a chair.

I really don't like the videos of Norther. Frozen Angel and Released are somewhat okay, but Mirror of Madness and Death Unlimited are quite lame, probably because Lindroos isn't really natural when he sings, seems that he doesn't like to be in front the camera at all.
But then again many bands have videos like these. Some bands are just not meant to do music videos, or don't really need them.

Oh, and no matter how great Rammstein's music videos generally are, Mann Gegen Mann is just scary.

Another vid i think is bad is 'Lost' by Visions Of Atlantis
it just so gay and the guy in it looks like a punk dude and it just cracks me up...

EDIT: Oh and 'Ice Queen (Old Version)' by Within Temptation is pretty bad too.

I think that it's quite difficult to beat Immortal in that area

Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism by Immortal is a terrible quality video, its just mostly them running around in the woods looking like retards. I am a fan of Immortal, but this video cracks me up so much! :p

Immortal's videos aren't that bad imo. I mean they are at least funny, in a good way. i'm convinced that they made them just to have fun. i doubt they really wanted to scare. But dimu borgir actually wants that. they try to look all so evil. and that's why the videos are bad.

Inmortal video are really funny. Megadeth and Iron Maiden are the only bands with decents videos.

There's a music video from some deathcore band, can't quite remember the name of them now, which featured the graphic mutilation of a young woman, nasty video

I think videos are the main downfall of metal bands! Which is a real shame when you're pairing these dodgy videos with such comparatively rich, complex music.

A good video would help often-overlooked bands break in to a larger audience as well...
