Close between Iron Maiden and Cradle Of Filth, but I think I've overplayed Iron Maiden so now it would be cradle of filth.

Iron Maiden !!! Why did so many people vote for CoF , they ruined the song (at least that is my opinion).

I haven't heard all of the covers in this poll, but I can bet that I'll still prefer the original.
Hallowed Be Thy Name is one of my favourite songs, and I think this is one of those cases where covers will never be better than the original.

I have heard only the original by Iron Maiden and from Cradle of Filth, so I will vote for the second one because I like the black metal version better.

Thats cuz one sings and the other screams. Whats with the weird arguments? Cant anyone notice they are completely different versions? I think this isnt a matter of which one is better. IMO they cant be compared. Sure, IM fans tend to "hey this is the original so ur duuuumb to think another version is better". Non-original versions might actually be at the same level as originals if it comes to "coolness" or "awesomeness".

Im not really trying to make a fight or discussion about it by quoting you, but i would like at least people to just post what their option was, and not flame the ones that didnt choose yours.

I actually thought this among live renditions by Iron Maiden. They've got by my count 5 live albums (not counting early EPs or Eddie's Archive, that'd be Life After Death, A Real Live Dead One, Live At Donnington, Rock In Rio, and Death on The Road)

That'd be an interesting poll....

Then my vote would go to the Rock in Rio version. One of the first Maiden songs I heard and fell in love with. The performance is excellent.
