Between Endtime Signals and The Last Will And Testament, Sweden’s metal royalty are opting for some ominous album titles this year. I for one hope that Dark Tranquillity’s newest effort isn’t a signal of any impending end, not least because it would be a slightly flat way to go out.

No more than soulless background music.

It didn't happen before in DT discography, but it is really happening - this is one of the forgettable DT releases ever.

For an album every 4 years, this is again quite average. Nothing bad, nothing great.

I've just realized that One Of Us Is Gone is likely dedicated to Fredrik Johansson, who passed away in January 2022 at the age of 47.
It's when you put things, and songs, in perspective, they become truly beautiful. Some of them are not just songs for crowds and masses, some of them are deeply personal.

Bad English
Tage Westerlund
To much Cemetery Skyline here but not so Gothic, songs where he sung clean vocals was best. To me this band well I lost interest in their new albums, there never be new Skydancer, so maybe we all need re listewn it + 2 next followers, what are best. Fiction was their last best but Atoma hasd one good song
I did like Projector to.

Agreed. Out of all the bands in this genre, Dark Tranquility has clean vocals best suited for ballads. And I've noticed their ballads usually have the best lyrical concepts in the album... One of Us is Gone and False Reflection have very introspective lyrics...

My only gripe is there are moments in the ballads where it seems like they're lining up a cool riff or solo but that never comes. But I guess the intent was to make the listener focus on the vocals and lyrics, not the instrumentation

I think this is much better than any DT album for a long while, easily better than Moment.
