Johan Reinholdz was born on the 30th of June 1980. He first picked up the guitar at the age of nine, inspired by his heroes Europe and their guitarplayer Kee Marcello. At the age of eleven he discovered music with a heavier and harder edge, bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer and Sepultura etc. Along with friends with similar musical taste, he began playing in local bands during his teens, recording demos and playing gigs.
As time passed by different kinds of music were added to the realm of Johan´s musical interest. The Cure, Yngwie Malmsteen, Sisters of Mercy, Dream Theater, 70´s progressive rock, Enya, Atheist, Marillion, jazz/fusion and classical music all became important sources of musical influence and inspiration.
When playing in Widow, who played heavy/thrash-metal, from ´95 to ´99, Johan also wrote music for various sideprojects, including classical influenced guitarpieces, gothic rock, deathmetal, symphonic music and progressive rock. In ´98 he recorded two demos; Maiden Voyage and Welcome to Forever, which mainly contained heavy progressive rock and lengthy guitarsolo-escapades.
Welcome to Forever attracted the attention of the record label WAR-music. They wanted to release an album in the vein of the heavy, progressive tunes on Welcome to Forever. Johan got to work and during the summer and autumn of ´99 he wrote the songs for Extension of the Wish and came up with the name for the band: Andromeda.
Except for Andromeda Johan also plays in NonExist, together with Johan Liiva and Matte Modin. NonExist has released one album so far; Deus Deceptor (NewHawen). NonExist plays heavy/thrash/deathmetal in a modern way. Johan (Reinholdz) is currently writing new material for their second album.
Johan also creates electronic music for his soloproject Kontinuum, which hasn't even released a demo so far. .
