my choices are:
-ensiferum-battle song(the intro works all the time
)-manowar-battle hymn(likewise, can't believe how epic a single clean guitar can sound here, this could very well have been on the soundtrack for 300)
-survivor-eye of the tiger(my "gym-song" lol)
-manowar-call to arms(makes me wanna grab a long shiny sword and fight the anti-metal horde)

I don't like the average battle song... Since power, viking or folk was never my favorite genre. I take Acid Bath, the album When the Kite String Pops. Yeah, maybe Sludge Doom Metal doesn't seem like a battle genre. But I think about a huge fight right on the street. Everyone drunk and pissed off... Now that's a fucking battle. The perfect soundtrack while you're drunk and stonned and want to beat the shit out of someone with a crowbar

Windir lyric is romantic heroism and also self-exaltation and also some mettle for battle. Then I think your choice is not so wrong. Other song with both lyric and music is very battle, could be: Battle Song of Ensiferum, and also from them Into Battle.

Early Kreator does it for me! It's not about swords and shields all the time, but their cover of Ravens "Lambs To The Slaughter" is a real battlehymn: yeah, it's time to fight back! Also "The Pestilence", "Flag Of Hate", and "Riot Of Violence" do the trick. Metallica's "Seek and Destroy" is also very supercharging.
