Why Do You Like Metal?

Everyone in MS like metal but I'd like to know the reasons.
Personally, I like metal because:
*Metal is a really creative music, because you find lots of different styles, from melodic metal, combinated with classical, epic, medieval music to extreme metal.
*I feel represented with metal, due to the variety of genres, I feel represented specially with melodic
*Many metal bands are full of culture
*In metal you find true musicians that don't do that music that you hear for some months and then it's completly forgotten
*Many musicians and metalheads are really interesting people and thanks to metal, now I feel that I have really good friends
These are the reasons I remember now, what I can affirm is that since I listen to metal, I'm a very different person, and I find many things of myself thanks to it .
So, what about you?

metal is only kind of music (except some extraordinary film scores or rock (or even pop) ballads) which affects me with some "mighty power"...i cant explain it exactly...the awesome atmosphere of heroism and glory...i love that try to listen to some Manowar battle song - maybe you will understand what i mean...

Good question.. Why do I like metal.. The same reasons why I prefer blockbuter & action movies (TLOTR, StarWars, ID4, Titanic, The Terminator,..etc) to those dramas, romantic comedies and chick flicks I think.. That they are larger than life and powerful, that they require specialists and efforts, that they combind & represent so many kind of arts and skills in the grandest scale.. In short, they have A LOT more to offer..

Metal is the type of music that I enjoy the most, HOWEVER its not the only one. I like anything that you can see criativity, passion, and skills.... Things that are commonly found in metal, but as well as in other kinds of music. (Teatro Magico FTW)

i like Metal... i trust in Metal... It gives me strength, It helps me to carry on... It makes me sleep under a warm comfortable cover... It regains me energies... It's not simply music but quite the contrary a whole lifestyle.

Metal is the music that gets me going. When I hear those heavy riffs, I can feel my blood boil, wild, fast solo's simply drive me crazy, fill me with rage and energy. The only thing i love more than listening to metal, is playing it.

I like metal because it sounds good, is creative, and theres almost an unlimited amount of things you can do with it. Not to mention the loads of subgenres. Most importantly however, I like the sound.

on Monday during the training my task was to run 6 kms or so...so i went out to run with my MP3 player equipped...it was already evening, so darkness around and only street lights gave some light...then it started to snow...and it was really wonderful feeling to run in this falling snow in the yellow blaze of street lights and listening to Avantasia´s The Story Ain´t Over... another such an experience i had today...i went on training, it was about 7 am, the sun just started to raise above horizon, -4 degrees, so quite cold and snow and ice cover all around...and in my MP3 was just playing White Night Fantasy by Nightwish i speak about it to share with you - and those are the reasons i listen to melodic metal and why i love it

I like metal because its THE BEST MUSIC THAT EVER EXISTED  because i find that it is actually music and most of it has meaning too. alot of metal is creative and i love it  I like metal coz you get to headbang and it gives guys the excuse to have long hair  Ummm what else. i like it because not alot of people listen to it and its more interesting when you meet metalheads that listen to the Underground stuff because they are rare to find here in Australia unless they are off MS : hehe

i love Metal because... -listen to a song is like watch a movie or read a book, you can visualice the atmosphere, the characters and the most important the feelings. -going to a concert of metal can become one of the best days of your life. -other kinds of music make condom like songs, you use it and drop it. Some metalsongs beacme part of your life. -there are metal for any kind of situation, there are songs about love, hate, dead, history, party, culture, heroism, fantasy, sadness, happiness, God, Satan, protest, evil, history, war, sex, literature, etc, etc. -true Metalfans are bounded like brothers and are loyal to their bands. -Artists are free to do what they really wanna do, to explote their creativity and they dont sell out their asses. (when that happens they become gay like Metallica)

power and emotion, aggressivity with deeply-rooted convictions. all done by dedicated musicians that are willing to risk living comfortably, to do what they love. THAT'S why i like metal.

For me it's the diversity, the complexity, the magic .. and all the story behindevery rock band and the fact that they produce awesome sounds ... and I thinkthat only in rock n' roll, and even more in metal secene it's whre you find pepole really interested in wehat they're listening .. why that band plays that musci with that lyrics ... it's just a magic thing ... It's the style that represents more in my reflexive way to to understand (or the intention to) this reality, my reality ... it's the only that give power, and relax, adn energy .. and some interesting feeling of a smooth and violent (in the same time) perspective of the world and the people who lives on earth ... And sounds good .. so I find answers, and interrogants... fear and joy ... light and darkness ...

I get bored when listening to humppa, pop, and such. Most good metal never gets boring, but there of course are boring metal bands too. Metal has the excitement, creativity, power and oomph that few other genres have (except for good harder industrial and dark ambient).
