Well, I think Moonspell have done many great songs. To improve my word just try Wolfheart, Irreligious, Memorial, Night Eternal and Under Satanae..

I shall ignore anti-COFists for today, cause I'm fed up with that "Cradle's total shit even Celine Dion sounds better" attitude that's been running about in metal scene for years now. Though I'd like to bring attention to the fact that Cradle's most vicious detractors, whose principal argument is "shit" (...) are almost all under 20 years old...
Anyway, I voted for Cradle even though I love Moonspell. First, I saw them both live and Moonspell was boring while Cradle was like ten times better live than on record. Also, I like at least half the songs on each COF album, but Moonspell hardly make one good song out of ten... Finisterra, Night Eternal and Alma Mater are great, but I don't have any interest in most of their work. For COF, all their albums before Damnation are incredible and they managed to play good music after, with songs like Nymphetamine Overdose, Coffin Fodder, The Promise of Fever, Babalon AD, Dirge Inferno, Under Huntress Moon, Devil to the Metal, etc, and Godspeed seems to be their best work since Midian.

this is a big problem ... little dani and his band never can reach to a band like moonspell ...
i can't undrestand ... if even cradle of filth is good, but still it can't be compaired with moonspell.

but if you want to compair the frontmen of these two bands look at fernando ribeiro and dani filth's career.
moonspell has changed many genres, like doom, gothic, folk (earlier works), black .... ribeiro he fixed in all those genre, his voice is great.
take a look at 1998. in daemonarch he sang as dirty as it is possible. and create a legendry album (hermeticum). and at the same year moonspell played "unplugged in lisbon" ... he had a clean and beautiful voice there ... he knows when he should change his voice.
but really what can you see in little dani? just he is good coz he chose dani? no my friends. he is the man who act in the FUNNY movie called cradle of fear. and so on.

or you can compair guitarist ... one richardo amorim, with two guys in cradleof....
amorim is incridible. i really worship his playing. i just name some solos: WOLFSHADE, ALMA MATER (riff), HERR SPIEGELMANN , and EVERYTHING INVADED

if you want more, compair two keyboards ... pedro pixao is a guy that has a perfect power to use the keys.
for example in ATAEGINA, TREBRARUNA, NOCTURNA, LUNAR STILL ...
at last. to make sure that moonspell beat cof you can take this one. both bands have covered ozzy ousborne's MR.CROWLY ... just listen to them and judge which one is better?

Heh,love ya dude!CoF is the best,fuck the rest.Now,seriously,I find Moonspell....boring.There,I said it.They are too slow,too much Doom.Don't get me wrong,I love Doom,but mixing Doom and Gothic isn't good at all.Most of Moonspell's songs sound the same to me.I have to congratulate them on Alma Mater,though,that's really a great song.But the rest.....Oh,yeah,I preffer CoF's (Dani's) vocal style over Moonspells.It sounds much more extreme.
And I'm more of a fan of CoF's earliest works,Principale,Dusk,Cruelty etc.Now,THOSE where good albums.Midian and Thornography suck.Damnation,Nymphetamine and Godspeed are damn great too.
And to all of you CoF haters,let's just say that there is a statistic fact that CoF is the most sucessfull Metal band since Iron Maiden.So

Hmm,this really shows how objective you are.Of course that Moonspell's guitarwork sounds better when the music is MUCH slower,so you can hear it better.Plus,those guitarists in Extreme metal bands are waaay more worthy of respect than those who play softer metal.Why?Well, even I can eventually learn to do the guitars on,say,Alma Mater because it's slow.But,even if I would live for like a 1000 years,and spent every moment of my life learning,there is NO WAY IN HELL that I could ever learn to play some CoF's songs.Or,say,Dark Funeral's.Not to mention Dragon Force's.

Cause he's right. One genre of music is not harder to play than another, only for the person playing.
