Burzum - Det Som En Gang Var (Not my favorite song from Varg, but the atmosphere it creates is unparalleled. One of the riffs is awesome too.)
Symphony X - The Odyssey (Words can't really describe how good this song is. Amazing. The solos, keys, and drums area all great through the 24 minutes)
Opeth - The Moor (The intro alone is worth all the praise this song gets from us Opeth fans. Everything about the song is perfect, Mikael's vocals, the acoustic guitars, the heavy guitars, also I heard there is a sigh in the song, and nobody know how it came to be there. None of the band members sighed while recording, so I wonder what it was...)
Nile - Unas Slayer of the Gods (The horns in the middle of the songs are what really make this song a favorite of mine. The solo helps a little too)
Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno (My favorite Iced Earth song. It has some of the best lyrics and riffs ever. "Abandon all hope who enter here")
Iron Maiden- Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (Maiden must be mentioned in this list for me. THis is my favorite 10+ minute song by them because of the mellow part of the songs and the feeling that this song evokes]
I could go on and on, but I won't. The reason I didn't choose a Dream Theater song is because I can't choose one, same goes for Porcupine Tree. Also there are way more good Opeth songs than this, but I won't post them all.

Actually "the night and the silent water" is my new favourite 10+ minutes song, maybe its because I learnt how to play it and I listened to it over and over again, but its just gorgeous anyway.

Great song but not enough for me.Hey, just realised that last time I posted here I wrote Triptych by Celtic Frost, surely an awesome song. But like it has a chance against A Change of Seasons by Dream Theater? That's my second favourite song of all time (after the real masterpiece Master of Puppets), all the band members are at the top of their league. The beautiful drums by Portnoy, the amazing keyboard tunes by Sherinian, the catchy bass by Myung, the wonderful solos by Petrucci and the so charismatic voice of LaBrie. The EP on which it's featured is why I do respect Sherinian's work. Otherwise, if it weren't for this song we'd just have Falling Into Infinity which is the bands only release I don't really like.

Can't believe there was only one mention of Isis previously. My downright favourites would have to be Isis' Weight clocking in at 10:46 and Drudkh's Glare Of Autumn. Soaringly Majestic! Others that come to mind: =>Burzum's Det som En Gang Var. *The* song that got me into Black Metal. =>Electric Wizard's I, The Witchfinder or Weird Tales or Return Trip. Trippy. Heh. =>Rush's The Camera Eye is something I have a soft spot for. =>Sleep's Dopesmoker is something I can sit and listen to without any hint of boredom even though the song is an hour long! =>Alcest's Le Secret. Beautiful. =>When it comes to Opeth, I'm gonna have to go with The Moor or The Leper Affinity... =>The Anglagard song Kung Bore off of Hybris is quite spectacular. A special mention to the Porcupine Tree song, Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape, clocking in at 9:36. More later. Cool topic. +1.
