I support abortion, because its not fair for the mother to have her whole life ruined just because she made an arbitrary dessision while were young, also if the perents dont want the chield, its better to just abort it than have a baby growing up in a home where he/she is not welcome.

It should be the mother's decision, and no body else, because thats HER body, not the goverment or the boyfriend's, but hers.

And if abortion was ligalized, I am sure that the numbers of "self-abortion" would drastically decrease.

Also I know a 15 years old girl (who I used to baby sit a few years ago, when she was 10 or 11) had a baby last week! Imagine how this chield will affect her life, although her boyfriend (16 or 17year old) accpted the kid (she was lucky, because most men at his age wont do it,) still a pretty drastical change, now she at the age of 15 she will have a life of a 30 years old woman, do you think thats fair?

Most of the people don't think this . Being at that age a father or mum is not a joke. Things happens after there is no responsablility and this is the result. Most people do abortion to eliminate this mistake but the real mistake was themself than the baby .

I don't agree with you when you said that this topic shall be left aside. In this form of argument we can prove how harm is done to mum and child . ( Some would use another word to describe a child cause they think that it is not a child at that stage ). Let people know what is really Abortion , what are the consequences of this brutal act.

Abortion, well prior to deciding whether it be right or wrong, you must first ask "Does this fetus have a soul?" if the answer is YES, then you SHOULD NOT abort the baby, but if it's 1 month old (in which case it has no soul) then I think it's okay to abort it.

As a man, i can't have an abortion, but me and my ex-girlfriend decided to have one, not for the purpose of that the child could have been disabled - she was living in England while i was living in Estonia, we both have lives in these countries, so it was out of the question of having that child.

I support abortion, a woman has the right to decide the fate of her unborn offspring.Besides, it is an embryo, so it practically does not count.I may sound sexist, but hey, some things have to be done.

pro-lifers just.... oh man, i try to keep my anger to a minimum but, eh everyone is allowed to have their own views.... not to say abortion should be used as a form of birth control, because the people who have multiple abortions like its nothing are completely stupid as well... if one is reponsible enough to be sexually active, they should be on the pill, use condoms... etc,... all those good things... to make SURE that a child will not be concieved. if you dont want one, make sure you dont have one, its not that hard.

and if an accident does happen, not everyone can keep a child, because of finantial situations, or age, or living situation, there are tons of factors. and i really believe that the best environment for a child to be brought into is one of love, and one with a reasonably secure finantial situation. so my view on this, is pretty much be responsible, and if an accident happens and you cannot keep the child, the right to chose should always be an option.

and what about the women who become pregnant from rapes? are they really expected to carry a child, and the emotional torture of bearing a child of the man who violated them? or how about those poor girls who are raped or molested by sick uncles and shit like that? would they be expected to bear the child? the right to chose must remain.

and did you know that some states are now requiring by law that the dr give the woman the chance to hear the heartbeat or see pictures of the embryo before going through with the abortion? sounds like there are too many fanatical christians in the US government trying to trigger guilt trips ..... and dont even get me started about the pro-LIFE morons who KILL abortion drs... talk about idiocy.

i dont like the idea of abortion but sometimes it has to happen. i mean in some situations you have to have one like for example if your parents make you or you dont have the money to support the child or if you dont want to keep the child. abortion can be very emotional for the woman too.

here's a simple test about abortion:
if a mother of 8 children,3 of them are deaf,2 are blind,and one mentally retarded,this woman is pregnant,asks if she should have her baby aborted, what would you say to her ?

if you tell her to abort, then you woud've killed Beethoven.
my point is that you never know what your future child would be like,but generally,for me, i am on the law side,once the embrio becomes a real baby, then a woman can not decide to abort him because it would be murder.

and some people could care less if their child was disabled or not, and they really create a loving environment for the child...(stress doubled included as well) i agree with you on that whole senario, because if parents are under double the amount of stress to care for a disabled child, how can they raise more correctly, healthy or not?

Excellent reply to the thread, totally agree with every single point mentioned, yes, the mother should be given the right to decide if she has to go ahead with abortion, governments and courts definitely cannot decide if the circumstances are "valid" or "Genuine" etc etc, Im sure mothers who carry a new life in their wombs are sensible enough to decide for themselves if they need to raise the kid or decide not to, i think the government should definitely ask women to submit in writing about why any woman would want to have an abortion, apart from this, i really dont think this is something the government should interfere in.

ofcourse abortion should be legal. If I dont want to have a kid with thesame genes like me walking around on this world, I'll be very gratefull for abortion so the mother can remove it
