The drummer is in Vital Remains. soooooooo fast!

huh? Tim Yeung is the drummer for Vital Remains, not Tony Laureano or George Kollias....unless I'm missing something.

Did they ever have the same drummer?

Not that I know of.

It's possible that Tony Laureano played drums for Vital Remains a few years ago because that guy has been in a ridiculous amount of bands, but on their fastest album, Dechristianize, Dave Suzuki played drums.

What do you guys think of Pete Harmouna? Presonally i think he is a fantastic drumm maybey not the best but has alot of feeling. George is better in speed and technicallity but there is somthing about Pete.

I agree. I am a big Pete Hammoura fan. Unlike both Tony and George I think he added a little more variation in his drumming, but of course all three have been amazing.

Nile one band that always set me thinking about how normal mortals can cope playing their music, love their music, also always wondered why they choose Egyptian Mythology as their idea behind their music, i dont have any complains, but imagining they writing songs about more darker and meaningful things should make things more exiting, heard almost all of their stuff, Black Seeds of Vengance, the vocals so fucking brutal, think B.S.O.V has got the best vocals of all the Nile albums.

Lemme play their music right away

You probably would have liked it better if the idea was something like hare krishna.

Nile is great! By the way not only Eguptian mythology, have you not heard To dream of Ur, Persian too.
Check out Melechesh if you are interested in Persian mythology.
they play so-called mesopotamic black metal that somehow reminds me of Nile.

ROTFLMAO, no way, i love Nile the way they are, thanks so much for writing about Melechesh, will check them out for sure asap, when i heard Saurian Meditation, i really felt like a trip into a pyramid where the walls closed on me sometimes and i was caught in a maze where people meditated and holy sounds were produced due to the power of music and when i listen to Nile i just feel like any other Death Metal band with a twist thats essentially Nile

In regard to the posts about which drummers are better, George is good and fast, but I think petes drumming is alittle more creative.

Exactly. But, I think there is no direct influence in Nile's work.
Lovecraft might be just one of their favourite writers.

I am finishing up listening to my latest purchase which is Nile's debut album. I was lucky enough to find this album used, yet in perfect condition, for only ten dollars at my local CD store. I almost forgot how awesome this band can be. Even though it is their oldest album, and most roughly produced, it is an amazingly fresh piece of work. I am loving every second of it and can't even begin to understand how I once lost interest in this band.

What is that one song where he is singing in egyptian? I think its the fifth track or so, he sounds like an madman speaking in tongues, but yeah, the debut album is brutal as hell, I think its up there along with in their darkened shrines.

Does anyone have the Karl Sanders cd where it's just egyptian interlude stuff? I'm sure this has already been talked about but I'm too lazy to scroll through 6 pages in hopes of finding it. I love "Dusk falls..." And hellraizer I think you're talking about Serpent Headed Mask.

I have it, it's great - very moody. David Vincent of Morbid Angel has a fantastically over the top spoken bit cameo.

I think that Nile are supposed to be releasing a new album this year. If that is true then I cannot wait for it. I hope it is similar to Annihilation of The Wicked. It will be the first time that they have had the same drummer on two straight albums.

A live DVD would be badass if they would release one...

Yes, Annihilation of the wicked was a very good album (despite the few acoustic songs). A DVD would be great, as would a new album. New album=Tour, So they better have a new one coming.
