If you're in a mood for some gloominess, emptiness, melancholy, and you want some noise to come through your instincts, this was made for your pleasure.

Great album, shame that I missed them live in 2010 due to some fucking idiotic Icelandic volcano.

Haha, I was saying just yesterday in the shoutbox that I didn't think you'd like this band. Guess I was wrong!

Have known them eve since they released this album. And the vocals are very much like Dawn Crosby's in parts.

Don't see it myself but her vocals are great, definitely appealing to my love of atypical female vocals and is kept behind a pillar of psychedelia.

I even remember reading an interview with her at the time where she said Dawn was a huge inspiration for her vocalwise, also the vocalist of Ludicra has dawn as inspiration source.

I don't see how her vocals resemble that of a heavy or thrash vocalist. Hers are long, drawn out, ghostly and very non-metal. Even if she says Crosby was an inspiration I would presume that's for reasons other than copying her style.

There are some very Dawnesque parts in the last song, I think, I haven't heard it in quite some time. Not Dawn's standard thrash vocice as used on Detente's album but the spookier parts on Within The veil. I can clearly hear the influence there

I see it's hard to define this album.
MS: Psychedelic sludge metal
MA: Atmospheric Doom metal
SoM: Stoner Doom Metal
Me: Psychedelic Post Metal, lol

Post-metal is far more accurate than sludge I think. This is way too light and atmosphere-based and not nearly aggressive enough to be labeled sludge in any form.
Reading reviews of this seems to be a bit misleading. Not picking up the psychedelic vibes, aside from a few riffs here and there and in the laidback retro feel of "Tyrant".

And I also do not hear Doom in this album. For some it might be more psychedelic, for others more atmospheric. The band itself describes their style as 'Experimental/Psychedelic'.

The last track kinda bored me (with her higher vocal ranges there, I kept wanting the instruments to come harder) but found the rest of the album quite enjoyable.
