The Barghest O' Whitby is definitely the best song I'd say, really great stuff. I found The Manuscript a little bit disappointing originality-wise. Still nothing bad though.

Both EP's are about 27 minutes, making this compilation a good length, but it's still pretty unnecessary in my opinion. I'm not fond of compilations in general. However, The Anti-Diluvian Chronicles are one of the best compilations ever.

Why release a compilation of two recently released EPs?

Probably for money. Peaceville must be short on cash these days. Maybe they should re-re-re-release the Darkthrone trilogy as a rare collector's box set vinyl-CD combo with commentary and liner notes and autographed guitar picks and a vial of Gylve's blood.

I'm pretty sure that it's about the money. And what a lame attempt to earn more money, at that.

This is still worthy of a 7, because I think The Barghest O' Whitby is a great EP/song. Didn't care much for The Manuscript, as it sounds pretty uninspired and boring and not worthy of more than one spin (at least so far).
