Some say Death is the pinnacle of extreme music. Not sure about that one, but what era Death? Or all?

Nice! An excellent one that is. Right between the rotten sound of old and the newer "progressive" era. (Too bad we can't see what Chuck would be making today. Probably not Death though.)

My favorite album from Chuck is CONTROL DENIED with Tim Aymar (also PHARAOH) at vocals. Outstanding!

I think the only really death metal band is just "Death"

and the same eath , Nile , Morbid Angel

Hypocrisy and Amon Amarth and In Flames and Soilwork.. they are all made in Sweden

Morbid Angel is my all-time favorite Death Metal band, so my vote goes out to them. I like them because they have created their own sound, through their albums.

Cannibal Corpse is better than the others cause im a chris barnes fan. i think it was so better if Six Feet Under was at the vote too

Therion album Of Darkness... is a masterpiece!

Morbid Angel captures what I feel the spirit of death metal is and can be. They are a good mix of brutality & technicality and are masters of creating an atmosphere with their music.

Of course I love Death. And Nile, Cannibal Corpse, & Deicide are all good as well. But no albums quite match Blessed, Covenant, and Domination for me.

My vote is a resounding Other!

Yes, Agree with you, Barnes has the best voice in Brutal Death Metal and he has a good brain in writing the lyrics..

But right now, i thing in Brutal Death Metal, Benighted is the best band... their last 3 albums are really great... I was a huge fan of Brutal music somedays. Necrophagia's early works are so great too, imo Kill Joy (Necrophagia's frontman) has the best and nasties brain...

Anyway, I voted for Death, because I dont listen too much of death metal, but they suit me very good, buth musicaly and lyrically, and they are one of my favorite bands all in all, not just from DM.
Hm.... Also under the option "other" I would like to mention Quo Vadis, At The Gates, Psychoparadox, and few others maybe...

Pestilence then Bolt Thrower. the first because of Consuming Impulse, imo one of the best albums in metal all together, and Bolt Thrower because of their never changing, yet always entertaining, consistent sound.

Death gets my vote. Hypocrisy early stuff is awesome, also like Sentenced's Shadows of the past!, Bolt Thrower uniqueness is good and Morbid Angel is wonderful too, but Death is Death. I really love how chuck wrote lyrics, they are one of the most meaningful for me in the metal scene.

Hard to give a genre name to Bodom dude, most people would agree with me on that. I guess the closest you can get is saying that they play some sort of melodic extreme metal.

NILE... Im not a fan of death metal but when i heard first time Nile, and started listening... Damn they are good, i like the concept of Egypt. I like everything with concept of Egypt. My favorite song of Dark moor is The Shadows Of the Nile... Very nice
