I'm utterly surprised by such a low rating this album has. Surely, it's not a masterpiece, but the music is not bad at all. On contrary, the musicians have a great sense of melody (sometimes reminiscent of Pantheist). For example, Shades Of Black has one of the catchiest doom metal melodies I've ever listened to. And I've listened to a lot of extreme doom metal in the last years.
The only downside of this album is that it gets a bit repetitive, but, then again, I guess, it's just a matter of getting absorbed into the music. Or not.
In my case the personal connection with the music was successfully established.

I'm with you on that one. This is far from original but it gets the job done. The melodies aren't too intricate and the atmosphere isn't too daunting, but overall I'd say these guys successfully mix the heavier aspects of funeral doom with the epic clean vocals that are typical of traditional doom. In my opinion the production falls a little flat, though. I think they were focused on creating somewhat of a "light" album to complement the clean vocals, but ultimately this took away any weight the keyboards would have had.

6.7 is closer to good than average... hardly a low score.

I figured it might at least be floating around the 7.3-7.5 range. I suppose it's getting a pretty honest score though.
