I cant get into any kind of music besides metal

Metal is the audible equivalent to the amount of energy released in a supernova.

Nuff said.

What I usually say is "I like the sound of a heavily distorted guitar playing awesome music."

But my reasons go deeper than that and it's unable to be put into words.

Becouse metal is anger, hate, refuse, always against, anti society, anti religions "not all the bands" but this why i like Metal

Because its just so interesting compared to rock/blues or any genre using guitars, vocals and drums. The way is played is just amazing and anyone in a metal band has way more talent then again rock n' roll or w/e. and death metal, vocals and instruments are just mind fucking. I could really go on forever talking about metal.

In a nutshell? The riffs.

Because.... sometimes u need to listen to heavier musik?????????? I dont know .. I could go hours with this...

Easy, the kickass melodies.

It's the Metal-Rush I get from the overall power of the music. No other kind of music can satisfy this need of mine. It's what's been keeping me coming back for over 30 years.

To many reasons to discuss in the amount of time I have but one of the main reasons is just because a distorted guitar playing evil riffs sounds amazing.

If you like metal that's you know why i liked metal too

I love metal because it's POWERFUL. No other genre I've heard has so much power...the power to make you want to stomp around, frantically air guitar/drum, move around and just totally into the music.

I'd always assumed that was why other metalheads liked it too, but oddly, haven't seen many people mention that as a reason.

Oh, and it's awesome for relieving stress too, especially when you're pissed off about something.

I simply like the power of it.

It calms my nerve it helps me focus more it opens a portal to another world in imagination i think its a gift from god

Because rap fails

I like it cause it's better than anything else out there. It's fast, brutal, tells things like they are, in your face, and disgusting! (well, not all forms of metal are disgusting but you know what I mean)

Also, it takes actual talent to make metal unlike mainstream music where all you need is a synthesizer and someone singing/ rapping into a mic.

I enjoy metal for it's wide spectrum of styles and it's powerful (and emotional) nature. It's also very fun to play on guitar, especially since pretty much anything is open on the table as far as what you can do. Jazz and classical are awesome, but metal will also be my favourite. Hell, you can even incorporate jazz and classical into metal very easily

I enjoy Metal probably because not only is it different from other musical styles, and at times makes me feel like a total badass

but that Metal, along with my religious view on life, keep me unbelievably happy, things that happen to me that'd make other people break I just take almost in stride. Plus on top of that, it just sounds good! When I'm listening to Dying Fetus - Homicidal Retribution, i can't help but bang my head to it in the shower, it's ridiculously addicting.

If that's not enough, the energy at the shows and the people you meet is amazing. There's almost nothing that compares to a night at a Metal Show, almost nothing.

Because rap fails

Rap sucks.

Because of the complexity, the mixed emotions, and how awesome it is to listen to while driving (unless cops are around.)

I cant really explain why I like it. I was just naturally drawn to it. I've never actually tried to analyse why I like it, but thinking about it now, I guess it's because metal is a very expressive type of music. Very real. I also find it to be a great release of emotions. Metal is just ''me'', that's really the best way I can put it. Unlike a lot of other people, who got turned onto metal by other people, I got into it on my own. Metal and me go together like Wallace and Gromit!

Metal is immense, not only in terms of the scope and variety of musical style (which in and of itself is vast), but in a visceral and emotional sense. It has the ability to express certain feelings, and I would say just about every feeling, in a way that truly shakes your bones (sometimes literally) and rattles your proverbial soul. It is passionate and intense, in a way which often rock and pop music just can't seem to reach,. And yet, it is still more accessible than the passion and intensity that can sometimes be displayed in pre 18th century music.

Metal can also be a huge social platform, and while it has its own sets of challenges and stigmas, Metal as a genre and Metal as a subculture, is often filled with creative groups and conscientous individuals who's values and beliefs go beyond and outside of what is acceptable or normal in modern society. In a way, Metal is a haven for the outcast and heretic who are generally the pioneers of the future anyhow.

We expect the albums we listen to, to be good from start to finish, every track. Most other types of music have a few songs that sell and the rest are an afterthought. So much more creativity, emotion and talent goes into our styles of music.
I believe to also be attracted to the fact, this stuff does not appeal to the mass population (the sheep) and sets us appart from them.
It is a statement of who I am, a release/escape from the routine.

You can say all Metal Storm users lsnin to metal coz They Breathe Metal , Speak Metal and they know that Metal Rules...

I like the sound of a heavily distorted and down-tuned guitar and the general style of the music is exactly the thing I like. It's simply just the music for me, and the sound of heavy metal is what comes to mind when the words "awesome" or "cool" or "bad-ass" are ever brought up.

So people i don't even know who are half my age think i'm cool.

Simply because pop, techno, dance, rap etc irritates me immensely. Metal pleases me.

Metal ain't just for the kids...

Metal is just a natural fit for me.

I'm very creative and expressive.
I love anything dark and macabre.
I can be extremely aggressive or placid depending on my mood and who I'm around.
I'm a big nerd.
I've always been 'different'.

Metal isn't the only genre I like though, I'm a big fan of industrial as well. And to be honest rap doesn't bother me either.

I like metal because its the only music that has serious lyrics!!! really I know its sounds weird but its the only genre that talked about politics & the new world order corruption, crime & war.

I think Metal is best music for young and teens , because it's hard and brutal and powerful
