Here it is, the latest release from the 'Dave Mustaine Experience'. One thing I have noticed is there doesn't seem to be one person standing middle-ground on this album, it's either a love or hate type thing. I'll try and put my sentimental attachments to this album aside and look at it from a rational point of view.

Who thought that Dave Mustaine, after being kicked out of Metallica, would be able to unleash one of the best known and most successful thrash acts in the metal world? Who thought that Megadeth would succeed to get a rightful place in the "big four" of the thrash metal bands along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer? Well I personally think that all the credit goes to those three words " Rust In Peace ", the band's 1990 landmark album. No matter what Megadeth produce, if it's good, we will obviously love it and if it's bad we will eventually end up making excuses for it, simply because Rust In Peace is a masterpiece from the past which permantly continue to cast a shadow over anything Megadeth have done or ever will do. Oh yes, 1990 is a year to be remembered, 2007 is a year to be forgotten for who's claiming to be the Uncle Sam of metal.

In Megadeth's catalogue, United Abominations sits in an awkward place coming right after a great comeback album, The System Has Failed, and right before an even greater comeback album, Endgame. Yet it is better than neither of the two. I have no idea what Dave was trying to do on this album. It's not a failure by any means, but isn't an excellent album either and, as I've noticed, disappointed many old-school Megadeth fans.

Washington is next is probobly my favorite megadeth song right now . Overall united abominations is an alright album. It's not their worst album and it's not their best album. It's in the middle

There is some good material on this album, but it was definitely a step backwards when compared to it's flawed, but still mostly great predecessor, "The System Has Failed". "Sleepwalker" is a genuinely awesome opening track, with some murderous riffage, and even some bloody and macabre lyrical content that actually manages to invoke comparisons with prime mid-80's Megadeth. "Washington Is Next" is a powerful song too, despite it's cringeworthy pro-religion lyrics. The rest of the album is very much hit and miss, reaching it's lowest ebb with the frankly abominable re-recording of "A Tout Le Monde", which really should have been relegated to a bonus track or a b-side, rather than being on the actual album.

Compared to the previous album, this one was certainly a disappointment to me, but even so, it's decent enough overall, and it's certainly not the lowest point in Megadeth's recording career.

I can't say all the tracks in this album are thrash but I really love Washington is next and sleepwalker. Not the best album of Megadeth but still a very good one.

Even the A Tout Le Monde remake is well done.

I want the drugs you're on. The Original was already totally horrendous and this version is even worse.

Of all people to ever like this song, I'd never expect it to be deadone. Like you said, terrible original song and even worse the second time around.

The only time I have seen a crowd go berserk when they played that song live and shout along like mad was at Hellfest. Yep French people hahahaha. I have Megadeth actually seen booed like mad when they played that atrocity live in The Netherlands

The spoken word political ranting on this album like on Amerikhastan and the title track is almost Alex Jones level funny

Somehow lost album, had no much attention, or I missed it. I remember video Le Tout de Monde whit Scabbia, its all.
Dave in 80's was political and liked conspiracy theories , and now he went even farter whit politics. This album is 100% anti american, political and anti western world. I dsiagree sometimes whit western world, but better bombing Iraq how go to church in mid Russia.
Music is OK, it never will be old Megadeth, but still band can kick some ass, seems they read a dead soul man risk reviev

This is a pretty alright album, sleepwalker is a great song but the rest is just eh. Dave started to go full conspirationist here, with at least 3 or 4 songs mentioning a new world order. Overall it's nice, some good background noise, nothing much more.

Holy shit this is a good album. I think the composition is some of Mustaine's best. It really is a return to form of the excellent early and mid '90s albums. Well done Dave...well bloody done.

Some tracks have some really stupid lyrics and the new version of A Tout Le Monde is weak.. but musically it's overall decent.
