Until this moment the album has 3 votes and the average rating is 5
I truly cannot understand this , after a couple of listens it actually sounds impressive not brilliant but above average without a doubt

Yeah I am baffled by it as well. It is on a par with their full length White Tomb and before people start going on about production. It fits the music brilliantly.

It is on a par with their full length White Tomb

Therein lays it's problem. Epitome of average as far as I'm concerned.

The production is a highlight for me "believe it or not" alongside the vocals as they both create the atmosphere intended perfectly ... and the performance on the guitars is great as well

I saw you gave White Tomb a 6. Then it is not trange to rate this one a 5.

This EP didn't improve on what I thought was of the big overrated albums of that year so it gets a point less. I don't see it as a problem, everyone seems to love this band, I'm sure it'll pick up. Especially if someone gets a review of it up.

Maybe it will never pick up for you. That is a possibility as well. tastes differ. I really really really enjoy Altar Of Plagues, and live even more tbh. But others might hate this band.

Okay it was released in April, though not on April 1. First time the stuff was avalable was at Roadburn 2009 and that was April 15, 16, 17. And a week later in stores.

I am a little surprised you like it so much to be honest, didn't think it'd be your thing. Thought you liked your black metal a little more difficult and challenging.

I am also a huge Wolves In The Throne Room fan, so then it isn't that surprsing I would like AoP too, I assume.
Sometimes I want my bm difficult and challenging and at other times nice and simple and almost droning.

I dunno why but I assumed you didn't like Wolves for some reason but now I think about it I recall you talking about them positively (in the Altar of Plagues thread I think actually) so yeah, now I think about it it's not surprising that you like this =P

Since WitTR were brought up I was wondering if there will ever be a second Two Hunters . Black Cascade was very good but as much as the previous or as the 2009 EP
