30/08/2019; a day of huge importance. Finally, after so long, millions of people could at long last stop making the same tired jokes about waiting for the new Tool album.

"Tons of people hate Tool"

Only 22 votes of 394 are under 6 and less than half those votes are under 4. I don't think 3 people voting a 1 constitutes a "bunch of people." (The first Ne Obliviscaris album also only has 3 votes that gave 1, from nearly 800 votes).

If that rationale was true why are the other Tool albums so much higher rated?

You also failed to factor in people that vote higher simply to inflate the rating.

This imaginary bombing is largely a fallacy outside of the occasional vote abuser, anyway. A popular album will eventually bring in the curious. A lot of those people will not find it as good as those that were looking forward to it. All the scores of this record tell me is that people do not find it as good as other Tool albums.

Excellent stuff! It's such a delight to hear some new Tool.
This album has attitude, technical proficiency, it's fresh, it's not afraid to create atmosphere, it's psychedelic, it's an honest comeback. I even loved Chocolate Chip Trip.

This is.... not good. The tones are flashy, and maynards vocals have always been some of the best. But this is one of the most disappointing records ever. It's tedious. Way too long, with some songs just jerking off to one riff for god knows how long, until the next song comes and the cycle repeats. Oh great, they have odd time signatures. How. Original. Tool was never great at structuring their music and just overblowing all their songs. It's like they play just to hear themselves play. It's already very noticeable in 10,000 Days, but at least that album has better riffs and bangers like Vicarious.

All in all, Fear Inoculum is boring, uninspired, and way, way worse than all of their other albums. But perfect for people that talk to themselves.

I don't play the guitar, the guitar plays me.

No, honestly. The guitar is an arsehole

I came across "Pneuma" song by chance thanks to YouTube endless playlists and I find this particular song quite awesome. If it is true they used to do much better stuff earlier I am looking forward to explore this band more.

This is quintessential tool. I liked that the long absence period haven't dulled their senses, that they are still capable of making engaging music. The repetitive nature of the songs is what is even more attractive to me about this album.

I've heard this song about 500 times from living with my Maynard-obsessed housemate; I'm bored to death with it, but it is a fantastic song

It's nice to know someone else is contributing to the ~9m views aside from me.

What a truly splendid album. It's comforting to know that despite all the shit that goes on in the world over time, Tool remains a solid constant after 13 years!

This is fantastic album in every aspect! Stable and mature Tool with refined and polished style. This is still fresh music to my ears. This is not previous albums duplication. Fear Inoculum is superbly recorded on 2 inch tape and deliciously mixed. It sounds juicy and powerful, just great! CD-Box which included lots of art, fat booklet, USB screen is truly work of Art. Highly recommended album!

Feels more like prog or even post rock than prog/alt metal, but damn is this good. I think I might like this more than Lateralus, even if the latter is objectively better. I should listen to this again, it's been a while.

Funny how the consensus is that this is better than 10000 days, while the dating of that album is higher here on MS. Shows the fact that the more recent albums are judged more critically than the older ones.

Amazing album overall and definitely a grower.
