Top 50 Albums of 2023

It's a decent power metal release with a progressive touch and decent songwriting overall, similar to the bands the above comment picked up on, but I feel they slightly overkilled it by the end. For an hour in length it just falls short of those memorable/exciting moments. There's nothing wrong with the musicianship performances though, and the title track is a reasonably solid epic.

Was impressed by the first track, but it might be just too long to enjoy at once but will definitely come back to it... however it was the same with previous abums, some very good tracks, but then they just cant keep the momentum, or is it me???

"Origins" just absolutely blew me away. That song is musically perfect, and I've listened to it many times. The rest of the album maintains acceptable quality, but not enough to hold a candle to that first song. I don't even know why they got Fabio Lione to sing on "Descent" though, their own singer is amazing.

I'll give it some more listens and see if it can grow on me. It's definitely a good prog power album, on the verge of great.

Coming back to this album and changing rating from 8 to 9
