System of a Down created a huge hype for the nu-metal scene back in 2001 with an album called "Toxicity"; to this day the mentioned album is still a best seller in many stores and we can hear many people talking about the greatness of this album. I bought this album a while ago, I heard it a lot of times I liked it the first few listens, but after a while it bored me big time and then I even sold it to a weird kid with an emoish hairdo.

Absolutely overrated band. I saw them live as Slayer's opening act in 1998, when her debut album came out. Totally boring, it sounds like they never knew what they wanted to be. Metal, pop, rap or opera artist. Their mix of pop, rap and metal, the ever-changing vocal style between clean-melodic, almost operational, jolting rap sounds is exhausting and boring. I never understood why this mediocre band was so hyped up everywhere. Here and there some good moments, but totally chaotic and boring. I tried listening to their albums, but after a few songs I got bored or I was annoyed and forced myself to stop the music. Yes, the style of the band is unique, no one sounds that way, but that's the only thing special about this band. Totally overrated, boring, mediocre band. Sorry to all fans, but that's my opinion. Some of my friends loved the band, I could never share their taste ...

I think they're the only decent band to come out of that late-90's nu-metal era. Not sure how you can label them for being boring. I saw them live once, on the Toxicity tour @ Brixton Academy. It was full of energy and a lot of fun.

I don't know what you're talking about I don't hear any Rap or pop in this.

When people call this pop music you could call iron maiden and metallica pop music as well

Such a unique album for its time. SOAD were one of the first metal bands I got into and saved up my pocket money to buy all of their albums. This was always my favourite though.

9.4/10 for me - 'Prison Song', 'Chop Suey!', 'Toxicity' and 'Aerials' are the standout tracks. 'Needles', 'Deer Dance' and 'Shimmy' are all also great. 'Jet Pilot' is probably the weakest song.

This would almost be a 10/10 if it were not for Psycho and Jet Pilot, they're not bad songs, but not up to par with the rest of the album.

Great production, fun riffs and unique songwriting. Clean and harsh vocals, slow parts and fast parts. Brilliant record.
