Evidently greatly influenced by the blues rock scene of the late 60's, this album could mislead anyone into thinking that the band would continue in a completely folk direction. Not true, but as songs such as 'My sunday feeling' and 'Beggar's farm' prove, jethro tull were indeed a band far, far away from the progressive rock genre they would later take on. That said, there are some seriously heavy moments (for its time), as on 'Cat's Squirrel'. A good debut.

I for one like this album because of the blues influences; great blues rock if you ask me.

Pretty interesting album musically, though I don't see it having very good song compositions. I can listen a song here and there, chill and forget about it after. JT cam do better IMO.
