Rob Zombie - To Enter Studio In June, Announce More Tour Dates With Megadeth

US alternative/industrial metallers Rob Zombie have announced that the band will enter the studio in June to begin recording their next album, which is set for a late 2012 release.

Rob Zombie recently stated: "It has been way, and I mean way too long without any new music. I am dying to get back to it. I have not felt this much excitement within the band since recording the first Hellbilly Deluxe record almost 15 years ago. We have been working on tons of songs for quite some time and I can safely say this will definitely be our best record yet."

Before that, the band will hit the road on a co-headlining tour with thrashers Megadeth, marking the first time the two bands have toured together since the early 90's. Two new dates have been added to the US trek - May 13th at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, and May 19th at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO.

Zombie said about the tour: "This tour should be a blast. I haven't shared a bill with Megadeth since way back in the early days of White Zombie, so this trek is long overdue."

Confirmed dates for the Rob Zombie/Megadeth US tour:

May 11 - PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ
May 12 - Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA
May 13 - Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD
May 16 - Stage AE, Pittsburgh, PA
May 18 - The Deltaplex, Grand Rapids, MI
May19 - Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, St. Louis, MO
May 20 - Rock On The Range, Columbus, OH
May 22 - La Crosse Center, La Crosse, WI
May 24 - Tyson Center, Sioux City, IA
May 25 - Hartman Arena, Wichita, KS
May 26 - Rocklahoma, Pryor, OK

The album or the tour?

Personally I wouldn't expect much from either.

Werll usually I'd say this is a cash grab or something negative about a new albumj from a an old band. But I've always enjoyed RZ.

Hopefully they wont pull a Ministry.

You can't really say a new RZ album is a cashgrab since they've been steadily producing music for like a decade now.

Bleh. They haven't put out a good album since Sinister Urge. I've sadly lost faith in RZ's ability to create good music after the most recent effort... Hopefully he proves me wrong with this new album cause I loved the first two records!
