Frequent loneliness. Diminished responsiveness. Unwilling interventions. Unforgiving treatments. Symptoms resonating in a child with autism. That's the daunting task Blindead take on with this vast, 7 song, 45 minute concept album: Describing a young girl's world infected with this mysterious disease. Cleverly done, the song titles form a paragraph warning you just how depressing and despondent this tale will be. Do away with smirks and smiles because this opus is not a joyful piece of work. Hearing a creaking upstairs floor, eerie sounding leaky pipes and mumbled voices in the very first few seconds of the first song portrays a drab basement straight out of a Hitchcock film and signals what's yet to come. Great album. It may turn into a 10/10 for me with repeated listens. It has a very raw feeling to it coupled with fantastic dynamics and genuine emotion. This is what music should sound like.

I was imagining something different under progressive metal. This record reminds of different bands, So It Feels Like Misunderstanding When and My New Playground Became reminds me of Gojira, All My Hopes And Dreams Turn Into reminds me a little of early Porcupine Tree or something similar (of course apart from the last growling section which reminds me of Gojira again). It's cool but to me it's not that great...

This is some great progressive post-metal full of emotion, a terrific vocal performance, and a great climaxing final track. It really helps to be listened to in one sitting though due to the way in which it flows.
