Carach Angren - Streaming New Song

How about some new material from Carach Angren? You got it. The symphonic black metallers have released a new track in anticipation of their first-ever North American tour. The track, titled "There's No Place Like Home" is streaming now over here. This is also the opening track of their upcoming album which will follow Where The Corpses Sink Forever. So, do you think it sounds promising?

The new album is expected in early 2015. Are you excited about it after you heard that track?

The band stated: "The song called 'There Is No Place Like Home' will reveal the first clue of the pitch black story which is told throughout the album, and it is definitely not for the faint hearted. Recorded by Patrick Damiani, Tidalwave Studio and Carach Angren during June 2014. Mixed by Peter Tägtgren, mastered by Jonas Kjellgren."

The sound is really "bassy" for black metal, but i like this phat production. song is also good.

Seems to have lost a little clarity in the vocals compared to previous work, which was part of their uniqueness, but overall this is pretty awesome. They've gotten heavier and improved their production without losing the tight performance and composition that makes them great. I'm excited for this album.

This time they sounds a bit like early Anorexia Nervosa. And that is good.

I think I like this. It didn't catch me like my initial listen to Lammendam or Death Came Through a Phantom Ship did, but I still find it interesting. The guitar parts seem a little more ADHD than usual though, I found it a little bit distracting.

Its pretty good.

Honestly was hoping for them to branch out there sound for this album but when it sounds this good i guess I cant complain.

But idk what everyone is talking about their production/mix sounds worse than ever here, the strings sounded obviously fake, the vox were too low and the whole thing was a bit muddled.. Hopefully they do another mix before releasing the album..

I tried to listen this, only because of your comparison to MIGHTY Anorexia Nervosa, but this is nowhere near.... At the start it sounded indeed like AN, but after that infinite bore IMO...
