Fen - New Song Online

With Carrion Skies, their fourth-full length album ready to hit the streets on the 22nd of November via Code 666, atmospheric post-black metallers Fen have released a video for a track taken from the album. Made by bassist Grungyn to evoke the supernatural atmosphere of the track, the video for "Menhir - Supplicant", the fifth track on the six-track album, can now be seen below. That's almost 12 minutes of new material. Was that a good start?

I did not see that coming...

I had more or less given up hope on these guys seeing as I found all their albums following the debut to be mediocre at best but this is easily one of the best songs they have ever made that's definatively on par with the ones on The Malediction Fields.

I've always felt that there were a couple of songs on each album that would appeal to EVERY Fen fan, and not just the ones that enjoyed the debut. I do think this new approach of theirs might resonate with the latter group, though.

That was a pleasant surprise! Finally something at the quality level of The Malediction Fields.

I had it on and kinda forgot I was listening to it. That's good because it means the song was not so bad that it distracted me and I wanted to turn it off... That's also bad because it means it wasn't so good that I went "Oh snap, what am I listening to?"

I don't get why everyone underrates the non-malediction fields Fen albums. I mean, the malediction fields was good, but it's not like the other ones were thaat much worse.
Anyway, very good song

The debut is amazing to me, the other albums aren't at all.

But this song... damn! It sounds awesome. If the whole album is like this, it might end up being as excellent as the debut.

Speaking the truth yet again. Keep it up, brother.
