What's some of your favorite acoustic material, written by metal artists? I find that they write really beautiful acoustic stuff, whether it be from bands like Opeth or Swallow the Sun's new album (the 2nd disc). Thanks for the suggestions!

Interesting response coming up, just for you.
I actually quite like some of the material on Ajattara's vastly unpopular acoustic album Noitumaa. Perhaps not the "beautiful acoustic stuff" expected by the OP (rather the opposite), but it has a sort of tribal feel that I like.
And then, of course, there's Picnic of Love.

Zakk Wylde's Book Of Shadows - simply stunning album.
Or Zakk Mylde as it's called in my house.

^ Wow an actual acoustic death with vocals. Somehow everybody tends to do "instrumental" which isn't more than death riffing on an acoustic guitar.
The vocals are also not ALL above the mixing, so production-wise it's pretty cool.
Still feels like something is missing though...
I guess it could use some percussion

In terms of albums, hard to look past Green Carnation's final album.

Lately, I've been enjoying Alive by Amenra. Some epic/acoustic reconstructions of their classics.

Wear My Crown and The Longest Night are some of Amenra's most beautiful songs on their entire discography. I remember nearly crying at the end of the former when I saw them doing an acoustic set at Roadburn.

Wings of Serenity, Mind Traveler and Royal Galley by the band Falconer all have absolutely beautiful acoustic versions.
In my opinion Falconer is generally underrated, they have a very unique sound and they deserve more recognition for it.
