Incredibly solid black(plant)gaze. One of my favorite bands in the subgenre for sure.

Strong Deafheaven vibes, especially from the first track! Almost to the point where I wonder if 'Sunflower' is a nod to 'Sunbather'. Not complaining, it's definitely one of my favourite tracks (and albums) of the year.

This band is not good at naming things.

There's something about that first song that makes me think they may like Deafheaven, not sure whether it's the closeness of the name to Sunbather or the fact that it sounds almost exactly like Deafheaven; thankfully, they tone that down on the subsequent tracks

I feel a little bit guilty now that I've always dismissed this band just because of their - silly - name and the unnecessary plays on words and Deafheaven allusions. If you can ignore the sideshow, then this may turn out to be a highly enjoyable listen. Probably the most uplifting post-metal/blackgaze from 2020 I've heard.

Red River is an absolute masterpiece of a song.
