Forced Entry - Drummer Gives Update On Band's Reunion
Back in late 2020, Seattle thrash metal legends Forced Entry teased that they were gearing up for a reunion, and two of its founding members Tony Benjamins (bass, vocals) and Colin Mattson (drums) later stated that they were seeking a replacement for guitarist Brad Hull, who was unable to participate, and they went as far as to confirm that there was talk of doing shows and possibly recording new music with the upcoming lineup. The band had since kept a low profile, until recently when Mattson seemingly confirmed via Facebook that the reunion of Forced Entry is still in progress.
When asked if the band were still reuniting, or if "the dead horse been beaten enough", Mattson's reply was: "There has been some bumps in the road the last couple of years..but....I will never give up hope!"
If the reunion is officially green-lit, then it won't be the first time that Forced Entry have reunited. They did one reunion show back in 2002 at the Abrasive Rock Festival in Seattle. The band first called it quits in 1995 after releasing only two albums, Uncertain Future (1989) and As Above, So Below (1991), and one EP that also came out that same year, The Shore.
