I never imagined I'd be so hyped for a Static-X album but I played the shit outta Vol. 1 so I'm stoked.

"Project Regeneration Vol, 2" is a solid effort by a band I am not very familiar with. They are relatively famous & I've heard about them and listened to a few songs here and there since late 2000's. Frankly speaking this is my first serious attempt to give Static-X a chance to impress me. Most of the songs on this album are rather fun and cool to listen to, but my favourite song is: "Dark Place". I am not super impressed after one listen and I think my rating is very fair. I will also check out Vol. 1 & I'll see where will it lead me in regards to my opinion of this band.

This album makes me sad. Static-X have been releasing some of their best work and it's long after Wayne passed. What a bittersweet end.

Compared to Vol. 1, this definitely feels more like a leftover album, cause it's easy to tell they put their best stuff on the first one, and it suffers stagnation in the middle. Nevertheless it's still a very solid album with a lot of bangers. Dark Star, Zombie (which straight up sounds like Alien-era Strapping Young Lad) and the Terrible Lie cover are killer. Even some lesser songs lie Stay Alive, Kamikaze and Run For Your Life are still insanely catchy and danceable, and it caps off nicely with the weird remix-like track Disco Otsego and the chilling From Heaven (which I read somewhere is actually an Echo and the Bunnymen cover; reminds me of December really).

Long story short, a slightly flawed but poignant cap off to the legacy a unique musician. RIP Wayne.

There's some good tracks mixed in with a lot of filler. Still pretty decent though.
