Very interesting and diverse list. From this list Bees Made Honey In The Vein Tree, Sermon, Ne Obliviscaris, Fvnerals, and Wayfarer are five here which stood out for me most this year. But other than Enslaved I can't recall any of these releases to be a disappointment for me.

Yeah for me, the difference between the top 10 and bottom 10 for me is substantial; I knew the top 8-9 immediately, and then there were 30-odd albums in a similar vicinity to one another to fill out the rest of it. Come end of decade, I reckon my top 100 will probably only feature the top 6 from this list (maybe Wayfarer if I find myself connecting with it more in the upcoming years), unless the rest of the decade turns out to be a stinker metal-wise lol, but I still like all the albums here a lot

I've found myself very impressed by the amount of releases I enjoyed last year, although time will tell how many I'll actually still be digging out of my collection in a few years from now. The sad fact is, I'll probably only be spinning a handful.

I waxed pretty lyrical about it when it came out lol! Hasn't had quite the staying power, but it's still an excellent release
