A prog thrash band with influences of Death and Vektor. Sounds like a match made in heaven, right?

It's not straight thrash, but this is the first thrashy album this year to live up to the legacy of good interesting thrash albums from last year; a rapid-speed juggernaut of proggy, technical death/thrash that shows off features of late 80s/early 90s proto-tech death (e.g. Atheist, Death), particularly with the elaborate, highly audible technical basslines, as well as early Vektor, and with a bunch of really cool melodic solos

I've never listened to this band before but I must say I'm very impressed by this album, probably the best technical thrash record I've heard so far this year even. It's definitely one for fans of late-era Death, even to the point where the vocalist very much reminds me of Chuck himself, but at times the rhythm and tempo gets so ferocious it crosses the border from tech thrash to tech death. The songwriting is technical but not to the point where it becomes extreme and overly technical, and the guitarwork contains a good amount on catchiness and groove aswel which keeps me hooked, top marks to the groovy bass lines aswel.

This was a pleasant surprise for me. I think after a few more listens it could go up to an 8 for me

Exactly. Those sessions of delicious roofs, groovy bassline and good drumming really pulls me in throughout the album.

Fast, short and sweet album with warm and cozy old-school production. More sounds like Proto-Tech Death to me, but whatever, it's a fine one.

A Real Mönkey
A lot of these solos sound like they came straight off a Yngwie Malmsteem album.
