For those not familiar with the band, Warmen is a side project of Children of Bodom keyboardist Janne Warman. Not only does Janne show off his incredible keyboard/piano playing abilities but we see that he is a skilled song writer as well. That said, these aren't just solo keyboard albums! Warmen plays high quality power metal with a shredding keyboard commanding the melodies. Guest vocalists like Timo Kotipelto, Alexi Laiho, Jonna Kosonen, and Kimberly Goss (first two albums only) make appearances on about half the tracks.

I thoroughly enjoy Warmen's first two albums: Unknown Soldier and Beyond Abilities; and was eagerly awaiting Accept the Fact which was released this July. Like the previous albums it opens with a strong instrumental piece, hinting at what's in store for us. Or does it? Unfortunately, I found few memorable songs this time around. A few tracks were amazing but most of the vocal tracks really let me down; a combo of weak performances and dreadful lyrics.

I'd like to write more about how this album made me feel but it's just very average overall. Tracks like Accept the Fact and Return of Salieri almost make it worth buying but if you're not already a Warmen fan then I'd highly recommend picking up the earlier releases Unknown Soldier or (especially) Beyond Abilities, which have a unique take on energetic melodic metal. This one doesn't compare!
