The underground act known as "Shores Of Sheol" is now back with a new release, this time a Demo called "In Harmony With The Dead." It's a brand new Black Metal Attack shaped by Sathur, and this time comes with fresh sound, polished riffs, melodic passages, and really overwhelming music.
The release starts with "The Fall Of Man", a nice track actually, the usual tempo comes in the beginning, some blast-beats in the middle, and throughout the song, what I like the most from this particular Black Metal project, Sathur's Vocals, this song goes by with no particular remarks, it actually sounds just as the first demo, but then in the end of this tune comes the first big shock, a good melodic passage, the guitar is played with some not so complex arpeggios and awesome rhythm, so by the end of "The Fall Of Man" I was actually amazed.
Then it comes the second and actually biggest shock, "Stillborn Messiah," the first demo was mainly blast-beats, rapid tempo, and raw riffs, "Stillborn Messiah" is the opposite to that description. The main riff is catchy as hell, the song features odd but cool passages and bridges (1:02, 2:18, 4:04), and some incredible twists here and there; this is actually a really impressive tune. Sathur manages to keep the adrenalin flowing, and that's why the track never gets boring, besides, "Stillborn Messiah" flows in the most talented way through our ears, I still can't get that awesome riff out of my head, so for this tune, congratulations to the creator.
The album has more of a mature sound per se than the previous one. The music is somehow more professional and more structured, yes nothing like the first demo I know. It features an incredible Von cover though, so if you want the "Raw" part of the band check that last track.
This release is really amazing, maybe it's not as raw as the first release, but honestly who cares as long as the final product sounds interesting. You'll know what I mean when you hear it, believe me, tracks like "Das Ende Des Lichtes" are not easy to find nowadays. I recommend this release not only to Black Metal fans but to every Metal fan.
Note: I won't talk about the production or mastering, After all let's remember it's a Demo.
