In Wicca religion, the Horned God represents: sexuality, vitality, the hunt, logic and power. But on other hand, in the metal books, Horned God can be presented as boring, repetitive and weak.
Yep, that is Horned God, a pretty new (or not so old) death metal band from Brazil that has released 2 full length albums so far, each one of them competing of which can become the most boring one. Well ok, here I must say that the first album (Absit) wins the price, because their new album has at least a better production and it is clear that these guys have spent much more time and more work on this one compared to their first album. So how do I know that they have actually spent time and effort on this release? Well that's easy; judging by the booklet, the production of the album, all the advertising they have done etc. I think I can at least say that they have put some effort here (but why on earth don't they have an official site?) and they didn't just wake up one day and decide to release a new album and release it next week. Although in my opinion, their "efforts" hasn't really paid off.
The riffs are way to repetitive, and I feel like the guitar, bass and drums and all instruments are somehow glued together. Some tracks reminds me of Krisiun, which I also think is one of their clear influences, but none of the tracks have any of that excitement and "action" that Krisiun have in their songs.
I'm going to give this album 5 but most of the score is because of all their effort, the decent production and more technical aspects like that. If you are a big death metal fan, then sure, check this out and you might like it pretty much, but if you are not a diehard death metal fan, then please go for Krisiun instead.
