Nice list. It features many I haven't heard this year, and since the death metal this year has been better than expected, I imagine I will find this list very helpful. Thanks for sharing it.

Wtf? Hanging Garden, Chalice of Doom, Ataraxie and Marche Funèbre in a death metal list doesn't make sense. Sure, they all have death in their sound, but primarily they are doom, NOT death.

It would be nice if you specify the sub-genre of death metal these bands play.

But you cannot say Chalice of Doom (and the others I just mentioned) play a subgenre of death metal called "death doom" metal, because it is a subgenre of doom metal. Not saying you were implying this, but I'm just pointing it out. But yeah, I agree that's a good idea.

Yeah true to your comments... I'm not sure why I put them into the listen. For some reason I guess to my ears they fit in a weird way. Might have to make a Doom list and put them on that!

Good to see you removed them. Looking forward to see your doom list (if you decide to create it) because I'm much more into doom than death metal.

I'm a Black and Doom kinda guy... I made a Death list cause this year surprised me with Death Metal. but I'm making a Doom and a Black one when I can..

it did come out this year...but I'm going to remove from the list anyway cause its only a little EP. I'll have to wait for next year to hear their new full length.

Corpsessed didn't even release an e.p. this year. their last release is from 2012.

And what are Nightfall and The Nihilistic Fron doing in here.

Same here, though the difference is that I barely listen to death metal and listen to doom and black the vast majority of the time. That being said, I don't check out a lot of new stuff anyway, so I'm pretty sure even in my favourite two genres there is lots of stuff that I haven't checked out yet. So yeah, your genre-year-lists would be helpful to me, in contrary to most, if not all, year-lists.
