I looked at the description and was thinking "poser? Which album?" And then I looked at the list and immediately knew which one you meant. But I've got to admit, Wherever I May Roam has one hell of a catchy riff!

Haha, I get people’s disappointment with the direction but I think they’re kidding themselves if they don’t think it’s a good album, some of the greatest riffs ever written are on that album. Just feels like a lot of people judge it for what it isn’t rather than what it is.

Also it’s nice when a Metal song crosses over and it isn’t a ballad.

Your obviously a big fan of death metal, judging by your list anyway, which is not a bad thing by any means, great to see Carcass and Sepultura listed here

Wait - I just noticed - why isn't there Human by Death?

Two reasons:

One, I prefer the older, more straight forward Death like SBG and Leprosy.

And two, because I have the album but I cannot find where I put it and I forgot how it sounds.

Probably more the second reason...

Yeah I also personally prefer Leprosy and Spiritual Healing. Symbolic and SoP are also better than Human, I'd say. I was just surprised you hadnt mentioned it, since a lot of people praise it. It is admittedly great, but not Death's best, I'd say.

Go and find it! It's still a great album

Some of those are still in my “listen to” pile. Is that your top ten?

Cheers, I like to spread the love as much as possible style-wise but ‘91 seems to have clearly been dominated by Death Metal, at least to me.

I’m sure it is! I’ll have to just listen to it on YT when I get a chance, I’m sure it’ll all come back to me and maybe sneak onto the list, who knows?

no, not a top 10, just 10 bands that did great albums (IMO) in 1991.

I couldn't stand the Metallica release back when it came out, but I appreciate it now. 'Sad but True' is one of the heaviest songs they've ever done.
