2002 was a really strong year especially for progressive metal, black metal came back rowing and power metal going through its golden age. My favorite non metal albums of 2002 1. Not among metal's best years but definitely a good one. There are three albums that belong to my all-time favourites in quite high ranks. And then there are several good and very good albums worth mentioning. My top albums from 2002 are: 1. Agalloch - The Mantle 2. Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done 3. Desire - Locus Horrendus - The Night Cries Of A Sullen Soul... 9. Immortal - Sons Of Northern Darkness 10. Insomnium - In The Halls Of Awaiting 11. Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines 12. Theory In Practice - Colonizing The Sun 13. Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage 14. Pain Of Salvation - Remedy Lane 15. Amon Amarth - Versus The World 16. Porcupine Tree - In Absentia 17.
