My Top Albums Of 2012 My favorite albums of 2012.
2012 was a good year for Metal, or should I say for Metal of my taste. The year was packed with a lot of Doom Metal albums, and the big names like My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Anathema, Candlemass and Katatonia all came good. My favorites Moonspell and Saturnus also came up with good albums. Epica was a bit of a let down, but still good enough for me. Then there were a couple of really good debut albums (Atoma and In The Silence top the list for me). So overall, it was a year where the hits just kept coming and music-wise I was never bored.

Technical Madness This is a list dedicated to everything crazy, eclectic and technical. I know there are many many more albums that could be added, but these are the ones I personally recommend. One album per band order by the level of "technical madness" (whatever that metric is).

Hidden Title Tracks – Album Titles That Come From A Song`s Lyrics Almost all album titles fall in one of two categories: The album shares the title with one of its songs (the title track) or, alternatively, the album title is independent from the songs (no title track).
However, there are examples of songs that have a central link to the album title without sharing the same name. In these cases, certain lyrics from the song were chosen as the album title. This (alphabetical) list shows the names of these “hidden title tracks” and the central lyrics that gave the name to the corresponding album. Please feel free to suggest more of your favorite metal/hard rock examples of these “hidden title tracks”.

2022: Jan-Jun Honestly curious to see if I get anywhere near 2021's ludicrous album count (~900) this year; should hopefully be some very high-scoring albums in the first couple of months, but otherwise let's hope for some good stuff this year!
Edit: Somehow managed to reach the list character limit, so going to delete some of the comments

2020 Album Ranking Seems like there's a limit on how many albums this site accepts on one list. Gonna have to cut out the last ones while adding new albums for the rest of the year.

Record Labels For Metalheads Handpicked list. For tracking/self-use. Omits certain obvious/very mainstream labels like Metal Blade Records, Century Media, Nuclear Blast, Peaceville Records, Roadrunner Records etc.
⭐ - Very solid label with almost all releases being good and worthwhile to listen. Good store, merchs, packaging and physical editions.
