You know the drill. Here's some rather fine sounding Cthulhu driven death metal that's not due for release until 2013, with extraordinarily beautiful cover artwork (check out the detail in the full image):
Turns out the Akercocke spin-off project Voices was on Spotify after all, just under "The Voices" and a misspelling of "Fugue." The album sounds pretty damn fine though, liking it a lot.
Pfft. I mentioned Magic Circle before they were popular, I'm so cool. And it's really fucking solid. Why music should be "interesting" is a mystery to me.

We obviously have a different meaning for the word "interesting" since in this case it means: It doesn't grab my attention at all because it's so damn dull, boring and without any character (which can be achieved without any originality). Nothing going on.
Interesting isn't a word used only for bands being original.

To say Magic Circle is UNinteresting is too strong a word for me. Though I haven't come back to it frequently that's for sure. In my case it hinges on those vocals. Same deal for this atmospheric/experimental doom I found, it has a female voice which pierces through the sound and is kind of hard to avoid:
Indeed I did. Just seemed like math metal to me though = P
Oopsy! Maybe Math Metal is the right term, but since I only know Dillinger Escape Plan in that genre (and I hate them with a passion) I diodn't want to put the two in the same place.

Black/Folk, when they're dwelling in their black metal side they sometimes give off a very Woods Of Ypres vibe, mainly in the vocals. Really diggin' this.
Some Lo-fi BM. Cool stuff. Appearently it's a bunch of jazz covers, but I beg to differ.
You'd be wrong if you "begged to differ"
I suggested this a couple of weeks back, and it is indeed a collection of covers (excluding the final track)
I certainly beg to differ. You can cover anything you want, but that certainly doesn't have a "jazz" feel.
Verwustrung cover a Neutral Milk Hotel song, but unless he said it, you wouldn't have known.

Check out my Post-Black metal band out here.
New Ep out now!

Oh you meant that you disagree with the statement that they covered it in a jazz style. I thought you meant that you disagree with the fact that the songs they covered were originally jazz songs (or that you disagreed with them being covers entirely). My mistake
I haven't heard it yet, but expecting the recent split from Akitsa and Ash Pool on T.D.G. to be nothing short of stellar... I like Akitsa more than Ash Pool, but I'm still expecting some solid material for their side of the split. Some other good recent-ish stuff includes Vit's "The Dry Season" EP, the single track (of a total of three) streaming from Ash Borer's upcoming "Bloodlands" EP, recent releases on Handmade Birds (Black Boned Angel, etc), and Skagos' "Anarchic," now that it's finally getting released on physical formats.
Fuck you Marcel... fuck you...
Didn't realize that. Is it a re-release or a re-recording? Or is it just being put on bandcamp for the first time? On the bandcamp page it says it was released on "March 14, 2013", so that kind of threw me off.
EDIT: Never-mind, I should really start reading the quotes on band's bandcamp pages

Just put on bandcamp for the very first time. Btw it was already re-released in 2010 I got the cd at the time when they played around the corner from where I live. Their most recent, Kanker, is from December 2011/January 2012. I know it says everywhere it is from January 2012 but I got it in December 2011.

I've listened to Kanker, and it sounds very different than that demo, which I guess should have instilled a bit of a desire to look into that before declaring it a 2013 release. Anyways, thanks for pointing that out.
