Recorded at the Prophecy and Music Factory studios, Seltmans, Germany,
February-March 2002.
Produced by R.D. Liapakis

The cover tracks were recorded on very short notice for a pair of tribute
albums (Dennis Ekdahl was unavailable for the recordings) and included on
Regressus digipack at the last minute. The production was rushed towards the
end resulting in the accidental inclusion of the unlisted Track 13, which is
the Sanctuary drum track.

Take a first glance at Mystic Prophecy and you will notice that they are from Germany. A second glance will reveal that they play power metal. Add these two observations together and you could be forgiven for concluding that they must sound like any number of bland Blind Guardian or Helloween impersonators. Fortunately, you would be mistaken.

Sounds more heavy metal than the 1st album and the riffs are more in the spotlight -- a good move if u'd ask me. Once again the question is: do the songs suck or unsuck? And again the answer is: they're rather good songs (with couple of weaker ones as expected with a long running album). I find "Calling From Hell", "Sign Of The Cross", "In Your Sins" and "When Demons Return" as the better ones, and generally the songwriting is pretty impressive. Surely the album is strong, but I'm feeling better is yet to come from the band.

This band is making power metal powerful sounding again.
