A fairly unsurprising album, but it slaps! Actual power metal. Who rated this 4/10 ?

^ I really like this album, too. Superb vocals, sick soloing, nice variety in the songwriting. They met the expectations I had from the CCs.

This is just the kind of album I expected and hoped these guys would release. Gates Of Twilight makes me happy.

Sounds like if Geoff Tate had sung on an early Savatage album. Good stuff!

This is great stuff! Proper traditional 80s sound and style with some great solo's and riffs and excellent songwriting and vocals. I hear many influences from early Judas Priest and Queensrÿche, to Dio and even Helloween at times.

It would have taken a position in all time top100 if it were released in 80s. Overall good album but I couldn't find a standout single which would last in our list for next 2 decades.

I didn't say you didn't said this. I asked why ot can't be in top100 if they are so good only because of the decade it released?

Simple. It's been compared with so many bands and singers of 80s. Check out the review by MS. To be in top 100 you have to be the pioneers. The album is really good , no doubt, but you get a chance to be in top 100 when you do something which wasn't there before you. If they had come out with this album, I am pretty sure they would've been leading the list of the genre. The ones who have produced all those top 100 albums and still not disbanded and live, have the same problem. They are not able to match the standards they have kept.

Good heavy metal, a bit too typical of the genre. Garden of Eden is an excellent song.
