Had no idea this was coming out! Incredible album!

Incredible stuff. All songs are different to each other but still manages to stay coherent.

Decent abm album, my cup of tee, but I think its to long 1 hour 6 minutes is way to long for album.

Very good album, less "catchy" than the previous ones but more interesting and intricate melodies.

It's pretty ridiculous that people are taking shots for people rating this album a 9 or 10 when they seem to say nothing with the abuse of low ratings. I see that way more in here. I mean just look at this years top 20. Oh wait... we still haven't managed to get a top 20 this year and it's November. One of the best years for metal in god knows how long. Well at least not this strong. Not a single albums rating is in the green. So many deserve those high 8s and 9s.

FYI, rate boosting is way more common than tanking is. I come across users with several hundred 10s on a daily basis. The most 1s I've come across is around 70 and those were deleted accordingly since it was tanking of entire discographies from certain bands.

Then I'm sure you will do something about this account who's tanking the whole top of 2023 albums with 1 rates...

Really an amazing album. Nimblkorg keeps releasing top notch stuff.

He does sound a decent bloke, and his produced yet another brilliant record. It's always heartwarming when artists acknowledge and show appreciation for what we do.

I have listened to all three albums, the debut I enjoyed the most and then the new one.

That is literally the Ubisoft logo.

I was just thinking about this the other today, since there's about two albums yet to be released this year, and we only have 16 in the top 20. This, however, doesn't really bother me because I think the ratings are fairly accurate and encompassing considering 8+ is 'very good'. There are albums I think deserved 8.5+ this year, but I wouldn't expect them to settle on that rating because it is the average of all metal-lovers here, not just fans of the band, or what I think it deserves.

Imo this was a much worse year in music than 2022, and I've also listened to 8x as many releases this year compared to '22. The albums on the top 20 of 2022 have, on average, similar or lesser amounts of votes than 2023's, so I don't see how something's wrong here.

The top 20 rarely reflects what I thought was the best on each year, so I don't really give it much concern. User lists and the MS awards are much better and give better recognition to the bands that deserve it.

Ive recently got into this band, this album has some of the sounds they did back in the past albums but also something new like that song that feels a lot like a horror synth or darkwave. Pretty good stuff, will give this more spins for sure!

Interestingly it's the second year in a row that what seems to be THE album of the year in my favourite genre does nothing to me.. I eventually got into An Abstract Illusion a little, but for this one I don't even have a rational understanding of what makes it good tbh, even less an emotional one.

It feels pretty standard, and rather flat overall. I think the flatness comes from the production with is quite compact, but also the dynamics in songwriting. There's no clear peaks, no moments that got my full attention and made my fist tighten from intensity.

Quite like this album. The opening track and Gardens of the erased are my favourite tracks here. I love his mixture of electronic elements here and there, gives an unusual perspective to the usual humdrum of melodeath.
