It's not a bad release, for one man anyway, it has some memorable moments, "Ardor for Black Mastery" particularly stands out for me, but it's fairly inconsistent overall, and I'm not keen on the production.

This one took a second listen to really see how good it actually is. Due to the album artwork being so awesome and the theme of the album (occult black magic) being just my kind of thing, I really wanted to like it, but I didn't find myself liking the first few songs much at all. Felt very average. Ardor for Black Mastery perked my ears up a bit but then I lost interest again on the next track. Well the track after that came, Ophidian Hallways, and that one really grabbed me. Just an instrumental that is more reminiscent of Stoner rock than Black Metal, I really enjoyed it. And then the closing track Recommencing The Great Work was overall the best track on the album for me. I decided to give it another listen after how much I liked the last couple tracks, and I think it was worth it.

I could really hear what this album was going for in the first half and it changed my opinion considerably.
From a straight 6, to a 7.75 I would say.
