This album has the same issue that Where Myth Becomes Memory did, whereby the album it follows is so revelatory that it kinda needs to be AOTY in order to not be a step down. The first song is enjoyable, but I do suspect that if it's indicative of what's to come, this album might not be quite as jawdropping as Etenem Aenka

Yeah they set the bar very high last time. I’m sure this will still be a quality release, and will for sure be one of my most anticipated releases of the year.

It's a good song and I'll listen to it a lot. But it's missing the energy and rawness somehow of Etemen Aenka. Still excited though. Got a notification about a new Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats album today too. All this and a great Priest album from last week and 2024 is really shaping up.

I might be in the minority, but I think that their previous album, while great, leaves plenty of room for improvement. So, I'm definitely curious what this next album will bring to the table.

Good sounding first song, but I want to hear how it fits within the overall album in terms of how they balance out polish and adventurousness. Especially important with bands like Dvne (or In Mourning) that have a narrative quality to their albums. That cinematic flow is really important to the overall impression.

"Strong release in the progressive/sludge territory. Hints of post-hardcore mixed with djent and sludge.
A side step from bands like Cult of Luna or Neurosis. Clean vocals are a welcome touch."

I've only heard a couple of songs by this band. I get the chance to see them perform this summer so I thought I might as well check this album out, and I was blown away. Great musicianship that sometimes reminds me of listening to Opeth as a teenager.
So the show this summer went from a "wanna see" to a "must see"

Another amazing release from Dvne. Great production, sound, melodies, a lot of depth. Outstanding album.
My only personal downside, they "overdid" it with the clean vocals, could do with less.

It’s a good album for sure, but on the first few listens it’s nowhere near Etenem Ænka. Maybe it will grow on me more with time. First track and the last two are easily my favorites here though

I think the sentiment is quite unanimous, a good album but not as good as Etemen Ænka

Wow! Just fucking wow! I didn't have the tinest hope they would top Etenem Ænka, and yet they did, effortlessly it seems. This one feels even more intense than the previous one, the atmospheric passages are rarer and shorter I feel, it is very powerful. This goes straight to the top of my 2024 top list, and will be hard to remove from there. My first instant 9/10 since Fires In The Distance last year.
I'm seeing them live tonight and I'm expecting a fucking mind-blowing moment.

This is taking away the cat in next year MSA. Great album, terrific sounding. I agree with others, it's not close to "Etemen Ænka", but not far from that either too.
"Reaching for Talos" will get constant replays on my playlist. Sarmatæ and Path of Ether are another highlights.
I'll give it more spin to enjoy more.

Lovely album. Like majority even I feel they haven't topped their previous album yet as a standalone album this is really really good. Love their play with stoner metal, I think that is what that elevates the album considerably.
