Like many others, my first encounter with the French Deathspell Omega was slightly after the release of Kénôse, their 2005 effort. Despite it not being regarded as a full-length by the bandmembers themselves, this was the release that got them out of the underground and boomed them into the spotlights of Black Metal.

The only problem in this record is I. It is catchy as hell, and keep reverberating til' weeks.

A hellish, chaotic journey filled with darkness and despair. A great album (not 100% sure what makes this an EP considering its 36 min runtime).

9.2/10 for me - Part 1 is the standout track.

Those with bad production mostly. Thy Catafalque had nasty riffs too. I don't listen to too much black metal.

Damn. This is dense, dissonant, yet addicting.

Sounds like a meshing of Emperor, Opeth, and Vektor and yet very much unique. Progressive, technical, dissonant black metal
