The world has gone crazy! And we thought that the world had reached the last degree of brutality with the atomic bomb... Ok the comparison is not really cool, but maybe you will change your mind when you hear this carnage called 'Vulgar Display Of Power'. Nevertheless, Pantera were not beginners anymore, as the previous album 'Cowboys From Hell' had been acclaimed by the critics.

Exactly how you should sound if you lack the talent to play raw intense thrash.

well given what thrash metal bands were playing after the black album (when thrash was dying) I think that this is a pretty damn good alternative

In 1992 my musical journey was going in a very different direction, but I've never cared for Pantera.

Tried them several times over the years, but they've never clicked.

Tried them several times over the years, but they've never clicked.

That seems passable, but what Dimebag did for Pantera, the energy he brought on his songs and fired up the stage around the globe impresses folks who never clicked with Pantera/despises groove at all.

I find a lot of their songs to be very inconsistent in terms of quality. If you're not a big "guitar-forward" person either, the music loses it's edge.

The Great Southern Trendkill is their true peak. Check that if you haven’t.
