I've been listening to this album frequently, since the end of March. It's disgusting.

It's been days since I could last concentrate this intently on my essay. Can someone confirm this has grind elements? Or is it simply really up-beat death metal?

I taught these guy play a soothing and melancholic form of post rock when I first heard their name and instead of that, they made me feel unsecured and disturbed. Sounds like a boiling soup of hatred

Hmm no, this is my own "find". I just scout MS looking for stuff to listen to. Johan gave me a list of approximately 120 bands, with no album titles, the lazy git. I have listened to at least one album by 80% those bands, and in that figure is included a bunch of bands I don't like. The rest of the bands, I either never heard of, or have little interest in .

Oh right, I figured you going from Fukpig then Dragged Into Sunlight would be Johan's handiwork. I'm guessing a lot of blackened hardcore would be in abundance in a list by Johan. He digs it a bit.

Oh right, there's Fukpig too. I just got called "sick pig" so many times I went to see what it was all about. But Blackened anything usually appeals to me.

If you liked Dragged Into Sunlight then you should check out both Lord Mantis' Pervertor and Alkerdeel's Morinde. Some of the best shit blackened sludge has to offer.

And Coffinworm's When All Became None (or IV.I.VIII, which I prefer).

'When All Became None' is better I think. And Rod's suggestions should be heeded. Well good.

Yes, I'm seeing this band's name plastered everywhere, I figured they'd be good. But I hate listening to stuff on youtube, it goes on the pile of stuff waiting for a spin .

Yeah, this is definitely one of (if not the) crown jewels of this style. Whole album just pounds you into oblivion, especially Volcanic Birth. These guys alone are a serious tempter for me to get my ass to Maryland Deathfest next year.

Mmmmm yep this one is heavy af! Like really heavy, only reason not a 10 is Part I and bits of Part III is somewhat modest.

I fucking love the production on this.

Still the most vicious thing ever. Always good to give the ears a proper cleansing.

As great as this is, I could live with a whole album like Totem Of Skulls ala Steel Casket in vein of stretching the sludge into almost drone noises interlaced with ambient conversations and unconfortable comfort.

Why they didn't use "Buried With Leeches" as the opener is beyond me.

If Dragged Into Sunlight were a video game they would definitely be Manhunt.
Vice-versa taken, Manhunt would be DiS as a blackening death sludge or deluge if you will. I wasn't asking.

Back on my filthy black/sludge/doom kick again (My favorite time of the year). If I had a gun to my head I’d probably pick this one as the undisputed king of them all, with Pervertor by Lord Mantis and Scorn by Primitive Man as a tied close second.

Those serial killer samples really tie it all together.
