I just cannot do Metalcore and I'm not sure why. I think it's the vocals.

I went and listened to this with zero expectations, and to my genuine surprise I really liked it. If you didn't know already that this was metalcore when you started, you probably wouldn't even think about it that much, because it's just so good metal.
