Dalkhu's Imperator opens up with the great S8N growling: six, six, six, five, four, three, two, one? (squeaky door opening, bells sounding, ominous trumpets, sparse drum rolls. The second track starts with a back masked vocals and a catchy riff. So far so good. Imperator is a typical example of a solid, quality album that completely fails to grab my attention. Sorry boys, but that's just the way it is. Imperator contains plenty of enjoyable Black/Death riffs, there's a couple of cool leads here and there and vocalist definitely does what his mother brought him to life for: growling his guts out. And they even add a twist of their own, in the form of the heralding trumpets that pop up every once in a while. Read more ›› |
