In case you've been living under a rock, supergroups are all the rage now, and they are popping up quicker than you can count them. Third Ion may not be as "super" in terms of fame, but this collaborative effort is still very much on my radar because members of Into Eternity and The Devin Townsend Project are on board.

Excellent stuff. This is prog that will almost certainly tide me over while I wait for the new Headspace album.

Even with Ag Fox's excellent review and the mention on the staff best of 2015 article, this hasn't quite received the amount of attention it deserves on Metal Storm. Very surprised more progheads aren't hopping on board. If it wasn't for the vast amount of repetition and how stale this sort of gets at points, this would likely receive a much higher rating. Probably the album I listened to the most in 2015, and the enjoyability of the record doesn't seem to diminish for me with repeated listens.

You might find the vocalist Tyler Gilbert interesting- he normally does folk and rock songwriting, but I guess he's always had a love of prog and video games. It's a really good example of what outside influences from metal can do- his voice is so nice on the ears, and he doesn't over-do the vocals like a lot of other prog singers do. None of the truly phenomenal tracks are on Youtube and the band doesn't have a Bandcamp, at least to my knowledge. You should be able to stream it somewhere.
